Mabel Hill Farm Kitchen & Marketplace Wedding, Chantelle & Tyler — Nipawin, Saskatchewan

I met Chantelle and Tyler for the first time in the winter of 2019 when they booked a session with me. They showed up to the session early and with coffee’s for all of us! From that moment on, it was so evident how incredibly thoughtful the two of them were. We met again the following summer for their engagement session where they packed a cooler and we spent the evening having bevy’s, chatting and roaming around taking photographs. Flash forward to the summer of 2021, Chantelle and Tyler’s wedding day was held at Mabel Hill Farm Kitchen and Marketplace. The morning of the wedding, both Chantelle and her girls and Tyler and his guys were getting ready at the Northern Greens Resort, located about 5 minutes from the venue itself. The town of Nipawin is a smaller community so fortunately. everything was within a short drive to one another. The girls got ready in the sunset room of the Northern Greens Resort and the guys golfed at the Evergreen Golf Course and then got ready in one of the rooms a floor below. Their ceremony was supposed to take place outdoors in the wedding garden but with all of the rain, they decided last minute to move it indoors. Tyler’s neighbour in the city he grew up in officiated the ceremony and the two of them shared heartfelt vows to one another that brought everyone to tears. The location that we chose for photographs, the Nipawin & District Regional Park, complimented their day so perfectly with mossy green trails and evergreen trees. It rained all day long but Tyler and Chantelle just rolled with it. After photographs were over and everyone was pretty damp, we headed back to Mabel Hill. It was so cozy and candle lit inside the venue which made it the perfect way to lead into their reception. I love that Mabel Hill was able to provide both their ceremony and reception location. The place where they got ready in the morning was also the hotel that would host all of their guests for the weekend, too. Mabel Hill served an incredible meal and their staff was beyond amazing with the service. Following all of the toasts, there was a slideshow and after the first dances was when the party really started. The dance floor was packed all night long! The entire day was an incredible reflection of Tyler and Chantelle and so many amazing stories about the two of them were shared. The faux plant that you see in the photographs was monumental in Tyler’s friend group and frequently makes an appearance at some of their bigger events so it was only fitting that it was there.

After the day was over, I asked Tyler and Chantelle these questions about their wedding and this is what they said:

What did you love most about your wedding location/venue?

“We found Mabel Hill well before the pavilion was built and after one meeting with Michael, we felt like it was the perfect fit for us! Micheal and the Mabel Hill team were so easy to work with and the farm to table meals that Michael creates are always outstanding! Our meal did not disappoint and the venue speaks for itself with all of the natural light and it’s gorgeous timber frame.”

Which part of your wedding day was your favourite?

“Our most favourite part of our wedding day was truly in the moments we slowed down and really took it all in! Walking into the reception and seeing how beautiful everything was when it was candle lit and filled with all of our family and friends was an absolutely breathtaking moment for us.”

Funniest part of your wedding day?

“The funniest part of our wedding day was during the ceremony when we exchanged our vows and Tyler yelled “YES!” instead of saying, “I do.” There wasn’t a moment of hesitation in his voice and everyone laughed.”

Something that surprised you about your wedding day:

“I was so surprised when my dad came to the reception wearing a tie with all of my baby photos on it. It definitely brought the water works from me because it was such a thoughtful and overwhelming moment for me!”

What advice would you give to couples for their wedding day?

“My advice to any couples planning a wedding right now is that it all works out in the end so try not to stress too much through the planning. Also, remember to take moments to sit back, look around at all of your guests and soak in the moment. The day goes by so fast and it’s so important to take it all in every chance you get!”
