Sunscape Dorado Pacifico Ixtapa, Myles & Shawna, Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo

In March of 2022, I travelled with Shawna and Myles and 60 of their closest friends and family to Ixtapa for their destination wedding. We stayed at the stunning resort, Sunscape Dorado Pacifico Ixtapa, and spent the week making memories under the Mexican sun. We arrived on Thursday and their wedding took place on Saturday, March 19. The girls spent the morning getting ready, sipping mimosa’a and enjoying room service breakfast. The room that the girls were getting ready in overlooked the ocean which helped set a relaxing tone for the day. The guys enjoyed a few cold beers and the air conditioning in their room before we headed down for Myles and Shawna’s first touch on the resort. They shared a private moment together under palm trees and exchanged their vows. After their first touch, we headed outside of the resort to our first photo location. Their wedding party consisted of four people on each side. After our time for photos was done, we went back onto the resort for the ceremony. The ceremony space at Sunscape Dorado Pacifico Ixtapa was a green space off the pool and bar which later hosted their reception. It was a short ceremony officiated by one of the couples closest friends. After the ceremony, their guests enjoyed drinks and a shot of tequila to enter the reception. We left the resort again for family portraits and then headed to the beach to soak in the remaining sunset. The beach was crowded and many stopped to congratulate and/or take photos with the couple. The party started when Myles and Shawna entered their reception. A five-course dinner was served by the incredible staff at Sunscape Dorado Pacifico Ixtapa followed by toasts to both the bride and groom. Both Shawna and Myles’ parents made heartfelt toasts to welcome them into the family and then they shared their first dance as a couple. Once the first dances were over, the dance floor remained packed for the rest of the night. Myles and Shawna did a confetti exit and ended the day off the resort exploring the nightlife in Ixtapa.
